The universe is weeping within me
Pain rises to the Creator who made eyes to see
Shadows moving in the light
The universe alive in this cosmic fight
The vision of Christ fills my soul
Decay, death, and emptiness takes it toll
Matter and spirit come together
Desire for communion the whole universe surrender
There is this hunger deep down inside I can not name
A mystical hunger that soothes the pain
All the world is an altar
Consecrated matter by the blood of Christ,
our rock of Gibraltar
The voices of earth cry out for unity
God touches our hearts and brings us into community
God's flame of love has lit the whole world from within
The divine mystery long hidden has now been made flesh and skin
Jesus buried in the earth raised up to new life
Dying to self and awakening to this cosmic strife
Purified from within and seeing the universe as one
No longer a slave in the universe but now fully a son
