Mystic & Seer
According to Teilhard de Chardin, a mystic or seer is a person who progresses in the spiritual life through a series of expanding circles (like St. Theresa's Mansion or the Celtic Labyrinth). This growth spiral where a person becomes one with the universe has three successive circles of presence, consistence, and energy. This spiritual stage or pathway knows no change because one is caught up in the unchanging God. The Christian mystic is plunged into an ocean of energy which is filled with unspeakable joy.
We need to stop thinking of creation as a one time event in the past and understand that creation is always happening and continuing. God is constantly creating as each of us are becoming a new creature or new creation in Christ. If there are three divine circles of the Trinity, there are three divine persons of the Godhead, and there are three circles of God's Spirit and presence with us. There are three circles of creation's energy that takes us into the threefold presence of God's Spirit.
For Teilhard, communion and action are become joined and made one by God's divine energies. God is beyond creation but God is also interwoven with creation at every level. Teilhard's vision of Christ penetrated every aspect of relationships to the very core where people can know the fullness of Christ and be empowered by God's Spirit to experience this world as a fully alive person.
