The Way of Love

The more we die to ourselves and come to the cross, the more you will live the way of God's empowering love.  God is calling us to higher levels of perfection and this will only happen in the purifying love of God.  It is only when we simplify our lives, slow down, look and listen, that we begin to hear and see things we have been missing that have always been right in front of us the whole time.  God wants His love to so fill us that circumstances hardly have any to no effect on us.

What feels like God's judgment on your life is really God's purifying love burning away all the chaff and worthless things we have attached ourselves to.  God is calling us to a deeper life with him.  A deeper life in prayer.  A deeper life in his word.  A deeper life with others.  We can not hang onto the old if we are to embrace the new.  Why is the way of love so hard, I thought it would make me feel good or at least feel better about myself?  God is not abandoning you in your pain but it would be so much worse if God just left you alone living in the flesh.  God's love is curing you from the sickness that resides inside of you.

Don't focus on your circumstances or discomfort or pain or trouble.  There is a purpose behind it all and it is love.  The only way to learn the way of God's love is to embrace the cross daily.  Every other way hijacks what God is really after, a pure heart.  Unless you allow God to take your through this painful process of pure love, your heart will not be pure for God.  Your flesh and worldly passions will fight God's love but simply rest that God's providence will see you through and take you to higher places that you have never been before.  Seek the pathway of God's perfect pure love.
