Jesus Uncensored Part 2

Image result for jesus uncensored

What churches have done without realizing it is they have shut Jesus up in the churches which is causing so many people to either turn away from him or are unwilling to call upon his name. Jesus has become so censored that it is difficult to understand his teachings when so many other people are doing all the speaking for him.
Is it possible that man trying to make religion easy for people to accept have deleted the hard sayings of Jesus? Is it possible that so much teaching in the name of Jesus has suppressed important truths from Jesus liberating message? When Jesus spoke of hell, it was not aimed at the outsiders of temple Judaism but directly at the religious leaders of Jesus day. If we are going to read scripture correctly, it begins by directing it towards oneself and not away at others.
When one reads the Apostle Paul words in Romans 1:18, it is not directed at people outside the walls of the church but directly at the leaders of Israel who know the truth but rather love darkness over light. Listen to Paul words again,

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth (ESV)

Wrath is not something we preach but what is revealed from heaven in Jesus. How did Jesus reveal the wrath of God. Love your enemies . . . Do good to those who curse you. God’s wrath is simply rejecting God’s love and not some fiery prison where people will be tortured forever. Our unrighteousness is the problem which God wants to purge from us so we can live in the light and truth of his righteous son Jesus. The truth that people do not want to hear today is the truth about Jesus who saves us from ourselves.
If the Newer Testament tells us we have a strong tendency to suppress the truth and the older testament tells us we have a problem of hardening our hearts against God (Ezekiel 36:26), why should we be surprised that the truth of Jesus gets censored in ways we may not have considered before?
When it comes to our reading and understanding the Hebrew Bible we call the Old Testament, has fear kept us from looking closer at the biblical text and blindness to seeing how Jesus read and interpreted these texts might shed new light for us today? The Hebrews called the Older Testament the Torah.  As God progressively reveals more truth throughout the history of scripture, the final and highest truth finally arrives in Jesus the Messiah.

Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our father by the prophets,
but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of
all things, through whom also he created the world. He is the radiance of the glory of
God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of
his power (Hebrews 1:1-3a)

Not only does Jesus reveal the true meaning of the Torah, Jesus very life embodied the Torah. Jesus is God in the flesh, the same DNA and nature of his heavenly Abba Father he came to reveal. Everything Jesus said and did he did in the name of his Father who sent him. Jesus is the living word who upholds the whole universe and gives abundant life to all who call upon his name
