Who would believe me if I said that grace
devised this lodging in a lowly place?
Though bathed in an immeasurable forgiveness,
A blinding love that wakes the furthest trust,
yet I am Moses straining at his eyes on Pisgah;
I am Job, stopping his mouth with ashes;
I am Jeremiah, face in the dust.
(poem written by the late Jessica Powers)
